The Gambia is located in the west of Africa (on the left side), just below the Sahara region. It is below Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania and Senegal. The Gambia is surrounded by its big neighbor Senegal and is the smallest country in Africa. It is about 450 km (280 miles) from east to west, and 50 km (30 miles) from north to south.

Gyda Valtysdottir founded the experimental pop group Múm in the late 1990s and worked with bands such as Efterklang, The Nationals and Damien Rice. Composer and musician Kjartan Sveinsson was a keyboardist for the Icelandic band Sigur Rós for many years. Kjartan and Gyda met Indré Jurgelevičiūté, Bert Cools and Shahzad Ismaily for the first time at Berlin’s PEOPLE festival and were inspired by the festival’s magical energy.
